Choosing a wedding venue can be a very time consuming and stressful experience, especially if you’re planning on a destination wedding.

Situated in the rolling hills of Tuscany, Tenuta di Papena is the perfect wedding venue that has it all if you want a very classy, close knit wedding experience with beautiful surroundings.

When Georgina and Jed approached us to photograph their wedding in Italy and told us their plans, we got super excited at hearing their ceremony was to be held at the Abbey of San Galgano, which is a roofless, gothic style monastery and only a ten minute drive away from their wedding venue Tenuta di Papena.

Logistics

One of the most important things to bear in mind when choosing a destination wedding are the logistics. How will you get all of your guests from the ceremony to the venue? where will everybody stay? Due to the location, If you want to get around and explore, I would recommend hiring a car from the nearest airports. Florence, Pisa and Perugia which are all within a 2 hour drive.

Photographing a wedding in the Abbey is an incredible experience, there is so much natural light, different textures and plenty of shadows to play around with making it a photographers dream. You truly can create some amazing images for your couples that they will cherish forever.

Behind the scenes

A behind the scenes view on the set up.

If the weather is on your side and you are lucky enough to have your reception outdoors, you are in for a treat with the delicious food and beautiful surroundings.

The Three days we spent in Tuscany photographing this wedding was a fantastic experience and the final gallery is simply beautiful.

Planning such an incredible wedding like this can be a huge commitment but when it all pays off it is the ultimate feeling. When you look back at your photos, you can relive some of those wonderful memories of an unforgettable day.
